For the past four years, CanFASD has been running a webinar series to share knowledge and research about FASD with more people. In 2024, they hosted 12 webinars on various topics related to FASD, including education, aggression and housing. Ten were part of their public webinar series and two were member-online webinars.

Feb 22, 2024: In this webinar recording, presenters cover the topic of the challenges and benefits of transitioning from youth to adulthood while living with FASD. Viewers will learn from a researcher studying the experiences of adults with FASD, their caregivers, and other supportive individuals during the transition to adulthood. The webinar also includes a presentation from an individual with FASD sharing their own journey on transitioning into adulthood.

Mar 25, 2024: In this webinar recording, viewers will hear about the updates to the Towards Healthy Outcomes framework and how it may be implemented from a policy perspective.

Apr 30, 2024: In this webinar recording, viewers will learn about the ongoing ChOoSE research initiative where the goal is to co-create innovative housing solutions for those with FASD. The webinar will also include a presentation from a member of the CanFASD AFECT committee, sharing his experience with finding housing as an adult with FASD.

Jun 10, 2024: In 2024, ten trainees participated in the CanFASD Trainee Program. In this webinar recording, trainees Lakota, Cara, Marie-Eve, Claudia and Mercedes present on a research project or program that has recently been completed or is under way. Topics include Indigenous based research methodologies, pain experiences of youth, FASD pre-referral trajectories, an Indigenous cultural support program, and barriers to mental health support. This is a chance to learn what the next generation of Canadian FASD researchers and providers are accomplishing, to hear new research findings, and to look forward to forthcoming study results.

Jun 15, 2024: In this webinar recording, presenters provide advice and expertise to help communities prepare for FASD Awareness Month in September.

Jul 22, 2024: In 2024, ten trainees participated in the CanFASD Trainee Program. In this webinar recording, trainees Alex, Hannah, Viktoria, Taylor, and Christine present on a research project or program that has recently been completed or is underway. Topics include FASD related knowledge of healthcare and justice professionals, professional competencies related to assessing and managing suicidality, the intersection of lived-experience advocacy and policy making, and the complex relationship between PAE and ACEs. This is a chance to learn what the next generation of Canadian FASD researchers and providers are accomplishing, to hear new research findings, and to look forward to forthcoming study results.

Aug 19, 2024: In this webinar recording, viewers will learn about the conceptualization of aggressive behaviours and FASD while hearing about new research on clinical best practice using the application of Nonviolent Resistance. Viewers can expect to hear from both researchers in the field and in-body experiences.

Oct 4, 2024: In this webinar recording, presenters Danna Ormstrup and Brenda Feland will share their years of experience working in the FASD and education field.

Oct 25, 2024: The Sterling Clarren Research Award is presented annually to a Canadian graduate student or early career researcher in recognition of a study that has made a substantial contribution to the FASD field.

Dec 6, 2024: The United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (UNCRPD) was developed to ensure that human rights are provided to everyone regardless of ability or level of functioning and can be used as a tool for self-advocates with FASD and their care providers. This webinar recording outlines what the UNCRPD is and how it intersects with FASD while providing a living-experience and caregiver perspective on what the convention means for them.
