FASD Programs in South Alberta

Supports and services for those affected by FASD consist of programs aimed at enabling individuals to reach their potential, as well as supports and assistance to families and caregivers of individuals suspected of having or diagnosed with by FASD.

Supports include:

  • education and training about FASD
  • FASD-informed support services for people with FASD and their caregivers
  • outreach support and mentorship
  • life skills programs
  • supportive mentoring and assistance to women who may be at risk for having a child born with prenatal alcohol exposure
  • justice-related supports such as youth programs and adult justice services
  • employment supports
  • supportive housing

Individuals impacted by prenatal alcohol exposure deserve respect, understanding and opportunities to succeed. Throughout their lives they may also require services related to health, mental health, social services, education and training, justice, addictions and family supports.

As advocacy champions for supporting individuals affected by FASD, and their caregivers, the South Alberta FASD Network funds and coordinates services and programs suited to their needs.  Contracted service providers offer the following services and programs:
